Update

The ARISS contact did not occur on thursday 10/22 due to a scheduling conflict with the astronaut on the ISS, who was engaged in a EVA that extended through the scheduled contact time.

The contact has been rescheduled for Friday, 10/23 at 13:55 EDT

You can tune in on the W8LRC repeater or via Echolink and IRLP as described below.

The delay has allowed WMAA to set up an additional video steam for this event. You can see the live video at http://ustre.am/1rZV1

LARC is supporting the West Michigan Aviation Academy in their ARISS contact with the International Space Station.

Audio of the event will be available on the W8LRC repeater, on Echolink Node #96170 (*MICHIGAN*), on IRLP REF9617 and via internet audio stream at http://stream.kb8zgl.net:8000

The ISS pass will begin at approximately 1:10 pm Michigan local time on Thursday, October 22, 2015.

The West Michigan Aviation Academy (http://www.westmichiganaviation.org) has been approved and scheduled for a ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) contact with Kjell Lindgren (KO5MOS) whose BIO is attached. The ground station was put on loan from the Greenville Amateur Radio Club (KD8RXD) and the event supported by the Lowell Amateur Radio Club (W8LRC) and the Holland Amateur Radio Club (K8DAA). The event is being taped with multiple cameras and is expected to be available on NASATV (http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/) during the contact (possibly a bit delayed). Up to date information is available on twitter at #ISS_Ham_Radio (https://twitter.com/ISS_Ham_Radio). If you would like to stream the live audio to your local repeater and/or listen it is available from several planned sources as follows: IRLP – the Great Lakes Reflector – Channel 9617, Echolink – the *MICHIGAN* conference – Node #96170. The audio stream will also be available for any regular MP3 stream capable player (ie. iTunes, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, etc) at the URL: http://stream.kb8zgl.net:8000 Additional links with video as well as audio may be available, but waiting on a final website for that – follow the twitter feed for further updates.
