Peanut Power in SW Michigan or A Kent County QRP-Nuts Saga

Four of us QRP-Nuts decided to go out on Sept. 27, 2015, for a “QRP in the Park” event in conjunction with North Georgia QRP Club’s Peanut Power Sprint.

The crew was Jack, NY8D; Gerry, K8GGL; Bob, KD8HNF; and Hank, N8XX.  We reserved N8P for use during the sprint.  It turned out a nice day, in the low 70’s, off and on sunshine, light wind.

THE CREW

K8GGL and KD8HNF brought KX3’s and 31′ Jackite Poles to hold antennae, and Hank brought his AT-Sprint (original version) with a similar antenna.  Bob and Gerry set up about 500 feet apart, and Hank set up between them.  There was some cross modulation interference due to proximity of rigs, so the KX3’s too precedence.

We managed 15 Q’s in about 90 minutes. Not a great number of Q’s, but lots of fun!
